Easy Peanut Butter Pie Without Baking

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and eaten something so good that you wished you could get the recipe?

We used to go to an old Belgium restaurant in the neighborhood that was famous for it’s homemade bread and reuben sandwiches. Occasionally, we would order a piece of Peanut Butter Pie for dessert.  This was when we were young and could still eat anything.  It was way before we started to think about eating a healthy diet.

I haven’t had a piece of this pie for a long time. It brings back fond memories. It is one of my favorite pies and the best Peanut Butter Pie that I have ever had.

We got the recipe from one of the waitresses who happened to live down the street. You have to believe there is some redeeming value in this pie. It has nuts, and peanut butter. It might not be as good for you as a healthy vegetable soup recipe, but it is good for your mental health every once in awhile to have a good piece of homemade pie.

Ingredients:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. creamy peanut butter
1/2 c. milk
8 oz. frozen whipped topping, thawed

Chopped nuts and shaved chocolate for topping, with extra cool whip.
8-9” graham cracker shell crust

Directions:
Whip cream cheese until creamy; beat in sugar then peanut butter.  Slowly add milk.  Fold in whipping cream until all ingredients are well blended.

Pour mixture into a graham cracker crust or pre-baked pie shell.  Top with chopped nuts or extra cool whip.  Refrigerate several hours before serving.
